New Year Presents Many Challenges

Jan.1, 2009

Stokely Creek Lodge owners and staff enter this new year with a continued determination to provide our guests with the best possible service, lodging, dining, and ski trails at a reasonable cost. We are constantly looking at ways in which to improve, and appreciate the suggestions that come our way from those who frequent Stokely Creek Lodge. There have been many positive comments about the improvements that we made on our ski trails during the off season.

Happy New Year!!!

Dec.31, 2008

A full house at Stokely for New Year’s is a great way to welcome 2009. Although the winds of uncertainty are blowing, this ski season looks very promising. Come on out on New Year’s day and enjoy our ski trails. They are in great shape!

The Way It Used To Be

DEc.30, 2008

It is great to be running near full capacity for the next few days. The weather is finally co-operating and our skiing guests are enjoying our trails as we working at opening up the rest of our system after the mild spell. Minus 14 deg. C. last night with about 6 inches of snow is just what the doctor ordered.

The Wabos Loppet

Dec.29, 2008

Although the Wabos Loppet isn’t until Mar.8, 2009, early registration not only saves you money, but it also makes it easier for us to organize. For those of you who have never skied the Wabos Loppet, it is a fun event, not a race. A 45 min. train ride to Wabos and then a 27 km ski through some rugged, beautiful terrain, hills and lakes, with 2 refreshment stations along the way will bring you to our day skiers cabin. There you will enjoy a BBQ along with live entertainment.

Snowshoe Alternative

Dec.28, 2008

The popularity of snowshoeing is increasing rapidly as skiers find out that it offers a nice alternative when the weather conditions turn bad for skiing. With the modern designs in snowshoes, being light yet strong, and with the ease of step in bindings, snowshoeing is becoming one of the fastest growing winter passtimes in North America.Snowshoeing is also a nice alternative for those who don’t want to ski, or who can no longer ski. Stokely Creek Lodge has added to our snowshoe trails this season and our guests are taking advantage of these great additions. Thanks again to Bob Yankus and Lucy Gagnon for all their hard work in putting in these great snowshoe trails!
