It's the most wonderful time of the year! If you are looking for the perfect all-inclusive vacation, consider Stokely. The package includes energetic exercise, homemade food, camaraderie with nature lovers, relaxation around cozy fireplaces, saunas, and a hot stone massage. Stokely is the perfect place to come with family and friends. We still have rooms available so you can join us to celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year.

Snow Has Fallen At Stokely!

Winter is here and Stokely's weather is getting colder, making it possible for the next snow fall to stay. If you want group training give Stokely a call to check out the snow depth and trail base. You can also check out our website for updates on trail conditions and weather including information from Jamie on his Manager's Blog.

Stokely Introduces Jonathan Rienke

Our good friend Peter Grey has taken a new position, giving him less time for ski lessons at Stokely. Taking over for him as Stokely's ski instructor will be Jonathan Rienke. Peter says about his successor, "You have a good man there with Jonathan. He is young with lots of energy, and he will bring that into the Stokely mix. He is a great skier, been skiing all his life." Jonathan is excited about working at Stokely, and says that he always thought he would work here one day. He would like to see excellence in trail development and grooming, and has some great ideas on how to help guests fully enjoy their skiing experience. We are excited to have him as a member of our staff! Meet him yourself in this short video.

Women's Getaway Weekend Including Free Ski Lessons: January 20 and 21

January: the busy holiday season is finally behind you, and nothing sounds better than a relaxing weekend away with friends. Consider coming to Stokely for a women's getaway! What better place to get away than a wilderness lodge surrounded by nature's brilliance? Come to ski, snowshoe, or just sit by one of our fireplaces and enjoy a book. Our chef, Yvette, wants to show off her newly renovated kitchen and is offering 50% off the weekend to the woman who sends her the best chocolate dessert recipe. Remember that she does not want to spend all day making it, so be thinking of something that is surprisingly easy and tasty (I am thinking warm and gooey.) Send all recipes here by January 1, 2012 with "Chocolate Dessert Contest" as the subject line.

This weekend is a chance for our guests who have been to Stokely to bring friends. If your friends don't like the cold, just tell them about the wonderful warm cozy fireplace areas to hang out in, the gourmet food to enjoy, and the snow covered trees to photograph. If they want to learn how to ski we will be giving free lessons, too. So: fun friends, homemade food, and beautiful surroundings. Sounds like a recipe for a great escape weekend!

Super Bowl Weekend Hut to Hut: February 3-5

Snowshoe trail designer Bob will lead the way on this weekend of skiiing and snowshoeing. Bob thinks the snowshoe portion of the trail from the Stokely Lake cabin to the new Hakon Lein Cabin shows off some of the most spectacular features of King Mountain. The Peregrine Pass trail follows a geological fault which passes through the center of what was once a much larger King Mountain. That fault has created numerous waterfalls, ice cliffs, and mountaintop views, many of which are accessible from the snowshoe trail. We will allow time for photos. Visit our events page for more details.
