West Peak Warming Cabin

The west peak cabin is presently undergoing some changes which should be completed before the season starts. The interior of the cabin will be finished with tongue and groove cedar boards and a wall to wall back bench. There will also be a woodshed built close by. With increased use of the cabin because of the snow shoe trail it has become increasingly difficult to maintain a supply of wood up there. A wood shed will give us the ability to utilize the wood that is on the ground in the surrounding area. It will also ensure a supply of dry wood, which makes it much easier to start a fire in the wood stove. Last but not least, there will be a new out house errected very close to the cabin. Our carpenter Richard has done such a good job on it that I am afraid that skiers and snowshoers may prefer the outhouse over the cabin!
