There is a lot that goes into getting everything ready for the Wabos Loppet.
Feb.23, 2010
This week we started opening up the trail to Shepherd Lake. This typically requires the removal of windfalls that have occured over the last year, rolling of the trail with the Hustler, and then track setting either with the Prinoth T2 or the Ginzu groomer. A temporary man bridge is also built to get across Shepherd Creek. The next stage will be opening the trail to Wabos with a snowmobile and the Ginzu groomer. Along with arranging for bus transportation, train arrangements, volunteer organization, entertainment, aid stations and BBQ preparation (as well as many other small details) it makes for a busy time. Of course, in order for it to be a successful Loppet we need YOU to participate! Remember that it is not a race but a fun event and is very doable by the average skier. We’d love to have you become part of the Stokely tradition!
