This loop consisting of Wynn’s Trail, Wash Walker Trail and Lapointe Lake Trail is consistently drawing positive reviews from all who ski it for the first time.
Feb.12, 2010
Most people are choosing to ski this loop in the counter clockwise direction. The favorite route is to ski the Walker Lake trail, at the lake take the Monroe cutoff to the backside of Jackrabbit Hill, and then onto Wynn’s trail, and away you go! This direction offers a number of challenging downhills with turns, so on most you don’t want to be sitting in the track. You will be surprised at how fast you will ski thoroug this 8.5 km loop! Although this area was logged last year, most skiers are also impressed with the conservative approach that was taken. There are still a lot of trees left standing, and in a few years as the undergrowth starts to grow it will provide more feed for the wildlife. The more food, the more animals, and the better chance of skiers to get a glimpse of the their ellusive favorite critter.
