Jim and Kathy Bricker are long time skiers at Stokely and last evening shared with other guests a video of their summer vacation. I’ve got to say that this vacation wouldn’t be for everyone. Getting dropped off by plane up in the Arctic tundra and spending 2 months up there in fly season isn’t most peoples idea of fun, but talking to Jim and Kathy, they are already saving for their next trip. Eating only one meal a day (preparing a meal with so many flies around was just too much of a chore to do 3 times a day), spending up to 14 hours a day in a tent, having nothing to eat other than dry food and the fish you catch would challenge anyone’s resolve. The trade off however makes it more than worth while for the Bricker’s. They say it is like stepping back in history 6000 years. You are truly alone with nature. They have some great film footage of grizzly bears, arctic wolf, arctic fox, carribou, and beautiful wild flowers that grow up there. We only saw about 1/4 of the film footage as they are still working on putting things together for an even better presentation. I and other Stokely guests can’t wait for the final production. Thanks Jim and Kathy for sharing your experience with us!
