Open House

Dec.27, 2008

It is 4 deg. C. at 11 am. but at least it isn’t raining yet. No doubt the weather will put a bit iof a damper on our open house but there are some skiers showing up. Dave Fanslow, a frequent Stokely skier actually said he was getting pretty good glide.

Bad Timing

Dec.25, 2008

Another 5 inches of snow between yesterday and this morning is O.K. However, they are predicting a high of 44 deg. F. (7 deg. C.)tomorrow with rain. That’s not O.K. It’s only going to be for one day, but that happens to be the day of our open house. We,ll still make the best of it. The chili will be on, and ski lessons and waxing clinics will still go according to schedule. The next day the temperatures will drop below freezing again, and that’s a good thing!

Merry Christmas!!!

Dec.25, 2008

The owners - Gaylen, Sue, and Ian, Tanya, as well as the staff of Stokely Creek Lodge, would like to extend a very merry Christmas to the faithful skiers that frequent our Lodge. Thank you for your continuing support of Stokely Creek. Looking forward to seeing you all soon in the dining room and on the ski trails. The fresh blanket of snow last night has left Stokely Creek glowing as a bride in her wedding dress!

First Overnight Guests

Tim and Denise Hill and Steve Pekich are the first of many who will be enjoying the warm and friendly atmosphere of Stokely Creek Lodge this skiing season. With a guaranteed snowy Christmas and our Open House on the 27th of this month, it is going to get very busy very quickly. The starting gun has gone off and we’re ready to meet the challenge. We invite one and all to “experience” a place like no other. Stokely Creek is truly a cross country skier’s delight. Come once, and chances are you will become one of Stokely’s faithful!

Dec.23, 2008

The only complaint so far about our ski trails are the moose tracks that obliterated our ski track up by the Walker Lake warming hut. Moose, like many other creatures often like to take the path of least resistance. Moose are truly a magnificent animal, and it is a real treat to be able to get sight of them in the winter time.
